Not all drug screenings are the same, but typically the process is straightforward. Employers Reference Source fully integrates the drug screening process with our web-based application, which eliminates the need for a paper chain-of-custody. This Electronic Chain-of-Custody (eCCF) process allows for an automated registration and will provide your candidate with scheduled appointments, the nearest collection site and directions. The candidate will then go to their appointment and provide a sample to be tested for a range of substances, including:
Amphetamines
Barbiturates
Benzodiazepines
Cannabis (Marijuana)
Cocaine
Methadone
Methaqualone
MDA-Analogues
Opiates
Oxycodone
Phencyclidine (PCP)
Propoxyphene
A Medical Review Officer (MRO) will analyze the results of a drug screening. A MRO is a licensed physician who has a history of diagnostic work in the field of substance abuse and will interpret the urinalysis test results reported by the drug testing lab to ensure a scientifically valid result. Though all test results, both negative and positive, are reviewed by the MRO, the MRO especially attempts to determine whether a
legitimate medical explanation
could account for a “confirmed positive” result reported by the laboratory. When the MRO can determine that a legitimate medical explanation exists, the MRO will overturn the results reported by the lab and, instead, report the final result as “negative”.
When you’ve found a great candidate and want to complete the screening process to have them join your team, we're ready to help. Whatever your situation or location, we pride ourselves on returning results to our clients within 24 – 48 hours, with same-day turnaround on many of our services.
